Last week we studied and talked about spiritual warfare in general. We discussed the important action of standing firm in the strength and might of God (not our own). It's His armor we wear, not our own. We talked about the enemy and what the Bible says about him.
This week we will begin our study of the pieces of the armor of God. Last week you numbered each armor piece. Our focus this week will be on the Belt of Truth and the Breastplate of Righteousness.

I want you to look at the words truth and righteousness in the greek. Using Blue letter Bible do a word study on these two words and any other words that stick out to you.

Ephesian 6:10-17 Put on Your Armor
Hey Ladies, I am going to ask you to walk into the next few weeks with wisdom. We will be talking about spiritual warfare, so be on the look out for warfare in your life.
Read Ephesians 6:10-17 and mark these words: armor and stand firm. Read back through it, underline and number each armor piece.
Before we dive into the armor pieces, I want us to ask why and how about the armor as a whole. So this week our main focus is verses 10-13. Read through verses 10-17 and write anything that answers why or how about the armor in general (don't look at the specific pieces of the armor).

Ephesians 6:5-8
Let's continue our study in chapter 6 this week. We talked about parents and children...now we move on to slaves. I know, you think it doesn't apply to you. Do the work, marinate in the text and ask the Lord to show you Truth in His Word this week.
Read Ephesians 6:1-8. Recall that we have talked about what we are without Christ and who we are in Christ. In chapter 4 we saw this shift in the text where we learned that because of what Christ has done in us, it changes the way we live. We aren't to outwardly strive to be better or do better, but because Christ has so transformed us it changes everything in our lives. And this week we are learning more about how Christ's changing of our heart changes our actions.
Mark the word slaves/ servant and any pronouns in the text. Make a list of instructions that are given to slaves/servants. What are slaves to do? Why? How? Notice all the details.

I pray you are feeling more confident doing your own word studies. Keep it up this week! What words describe an action, are descriptive, or bring meaning into the text? Look up those words. (I am not asking you to look up every word in the text.)

Ephesians 6:1-3
Welcome to chapter 6 ladies!!! I believe our journey through Ephesians will be over soon.
Let's begin chapter 6 by reading through the entire chapter. Remember to read with a purpose. Look for the main themes or ideas in the chapter. Look for paragraph divisions.
Write down in your notes the main divisions of the chapter and the main idea in that paragraph (remember to use words from the text, don't paraphrase!!!)
Now let's look at the first paragraph division: Ephesians 6:1-3. Who is Paul speaking to specifically in this section? Let's mark who Paul is speaking to in Ephesians 6:1-3.
Paul is continuing his discussion on the family. He is now talking to children. What instructions does Paul give the children? Write down the answers in your notes.

Ephesians 5:22-33 Husbands and Wives
This week we will focus on marriage from Ephesians 5:22-33. There is a major lesson this week that I am praying that you see. Marriage is so beyond us and is a bigger picture of something awesome. Let's investigate the text and see what we can learn.
Read Ephesians 5:22-33 and mark husband, wife, subject/submit, and love.
What do you learn about husbands and wives? What are their roles in the family? Make a list on what you learn about husbands and make a list on what you learn about wives.
Do you see any comparisons in this part of the text? (Look for the word as) Write down in your journal the comparisons.
Look up these words in the Greek using Blue Letter Bible: love & subject/submit. Write down everything you learn.
What did you learn this week from the text? What role does a husband have? What does his role show/display? What role does a wife have? What does her role show/display? Is there a bigger picture of marriage? Is there purpose above ourselves in marriage? (Yes, there is) What is the grander purpose? Why does our role in marriage matter?
